Starting lineups for the 2013 All-Star Game have been decided according to votes given by hockey fans around the world. The fans voted the starting lineup consisting of 1 goaltender, 2 defenseman, 1 left wing, 1 center and 1 right wing for both North America All-Stars and World All-Stars. 13-2-2013 NHL All-Star Skill Competitions
The annual All-Star event kicked off today with the skill competitions. Team North America and Team World competed in six different races and the fans got to see their stars shine.

Team World won the puck control relay with a team of Alexander Ovechkin, Ilya Kovalchuk and Marian Gaborik.

Alexander Ovechkin of Team World won the fastest skater competition, beating Sidney Crosby in the final.

Joe Thornton of Team North America won the hardest shot competition with a result of 85 MPH, beating Olli Jokinen in the final.

Marian Hossa of Team World won the accuracy shooting competition, beating Brian Gionta in the final.

Kari Lehtonen of Team World won the goalie competition (pass&score), beating Roberto Luongo in the final.

Team World won the breakaway relay with a team of Ilya Kovalchuk, Alexander Ovechkin and Marian Gaborik.

The yearly clash between Team North America and Team World will take place tomorrow.

14-2-2013 NHL All-Star Game
Team North America has won the annual NHL All-Star game with a score of 13-10. Game MVP was Ryan Smyth.

A native of Canada, Ryan Smyth was originally drafted to the NHL by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1st round of the 1994 entry draft. He has appeared in 1224 NHL games during his career, notching 429 goals and adding 474 assists along with 755 penalty minutes. The 36 year old right wing has played 57 games with the Philadelphia Flyers this season, totalling 30+23=53 with 2 PIM.
